Doris Miočinović (née Bikar) was born in Novi Sad, and raised in Sremski Karlovci, Serbia. Throughout her elementary and high school education, she competitively played volleyball, tennis, swam, learned foreign languages (English and German), and was encouraged to pursue arts. She found ways to express herself through music (flute and singing), acting (theater and television), writing and visual arts (painting and photography). Doris graduated from Karlovačka Gimnazija early and was offered a full athletic scholarship to study and play university volleyball on the other side of the world, in Hawaii.

Upon arrival, Hawaii quickly became a home as it offered many venues for her to continue her artistic pursuits, while athletics and studies, and later career and family remained priority. Doris was immediately drawn into photography by enthusiasm and expertise of a good friend and mentor, late Larry Tom. Her technical knowledge and skills were further sharpened by classes in art and physics of photography. Her other important teachers and mentors include David Cooke, Ph.D., and Marc Schechter.

Doris attended Brigham Young University of Hawaii, Chaminade University, and completed her master's degree in business at Shidler College at University of Hawaii at Manoa. Doris has been working as a business consultant for seven years, and currently co-owns M2 Consulting, a business and technology consulting company. She owns and runs PhotoDoris.com, her own stock photography business, licensing photographs for use in print and electronic media, as well as personal use. Her stock photo library can be found at GlobalEye Images and OzImages. So far, her stock photographs have been licensed to various organizations around the world for the use in text books, annual reports, menus, posters, advertisements, marketing materials, presentations, and business reports. Some of her art stock photographs are decorating homes and offices internationally.

For years, Doris enjoyed photographing with her Canon AE-1, developing her black-and-white film and photos in the darkroom. Few years ago, she turned to digital SLR cameras, and now uses Nikon D80 and D3000 to capture images of her favorite themes, nature and people. She enjoys animating and photographing people, especially children; nature; abstracts; architecture; athletics, all in natural/outdoor light. She uses minimum equipment and maximizes available conditions, enjoys close-up and candid photography, and likes to experiment.

Doris has exhibited, sold, and licensed photographs for use around the world.
